City of Randleman’s finance director resigns

The finance director for the city of Randleman has resigned. A reason for the resignation has not been made public.According to City Manager Hank Raper, it was a “mutual separation” between the city and Elizabeth Sechriest. She had been in the role since December 2022.”Her resignation was effective July 3, 2025. Elizabeth was never placed on leave and no formal investigation occurred,” Raper told WXII 12 Investigates Tuesday.Raper said Tuesday there is no evidence of misappropriation of funds from the city of Randleman. The city says they plan to begin the process of searching for a new finance director immediately. Raper confirmed Sechriest’s departure will come at a cost.”Elizabeth was paid wages for five months totaling $43,509.68, reimbursement of five months insurance including health, dental, and vision totaling $2,803.00, and accrued vacation/comp time totaling $12,871.28,” Raper said in a statement.The State Bureau of Investigation says their office “does not have an active investigation into Randleman’s former finance director, Elizabeth Sechriest, as of today’s date.”The state’s auditor’s office “cannot confirm or deny that a potential audit or investigation is in progress or has been requested.”To view the approved Fiscal Year 2025-2026 budget- for the city, click here.This is a developing story.
