Description
The San Diego State University (SDSU) Department of Finance in the Fowler College of Business seeks to hire a tenure-track faculty member (Assistant Professor- Corporate Finance) with an expertise in Entrepreneurial Finance, to begin Fall 2024. This position is contingent upon state funding.
Qualifications
Qualified applicants will hold a doctorate (Ph.D.) in Finance or in a related field by August 2024. The successful candidate will possess strong research interest and capability as evidenced by an appropriate history of, or potential for, professional growth activity. This will include regular publication in high-quality, refereed journals and professional conference participation as well as demonstration of an innovative and active research agenda. Teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate levels is preferred. Candidates will also be expected to demonstrate an ability to interact effectively with members of the business community.
The SDSU Fowler College of Business is among the nation’s oldest and largest AACSB accredited business schools. Its accomplished faculty and highly ranked academic programs provide an exceptional foundation for an institution with significant regional, national and international impact. The Fowler College of Business enrolls approximately 7,500 undergraduate and about 450 graduate students. The Finance Department includes 16 full-time tenured and tenure-track faculty members, and it offers the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree with majors in Finance, Financial Services, and Real Estate. At the graduate level, the College has the MBA degree with a specialization in Finance, MS degree in Finance, and the MS degree with emphasis in Financial and Tax Planning. We are seeking applicants with demonstrated experience in and/or commitment to teaching and working effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and members of underrepresented groups. The anticipated salary for an assistant professor position at SDSU is $5,405 – $11,994 academic year full- time monthly salary. This amount will vary according to candidate rank, experience, and market considerations specific to the scholarly discipline. Salary represents one component of a job offer that will also include a full benefits package, moving expenses, and start-up support.
