Kim Yeon-soo (pseudonym), finance manager of Samsung SDS, reviews more than 1,000 corporate card receipts every month. It is to determine whether the card details used by the purchasing team and the sales team match the actual amount and whether the expenditure meets the company’s regulations. In the meantime, it has taken more than three days to process 1,500 receipts, but after using artificial intelligence (AI), it is completed in five hours. As AI automatically processed repeated verification tasks, Kim was able to leave the office on time without working overtime.

Samsung SDS held a ‘Generative AI Media Day’ at Jamsil Campus in Seoul on the 26th and announced its AI agent strategy to judge and perform tasks on its own. On this day, Samsung SDS CEO Lee Joon-hee unveiled △ Generative AI platform ‘Fabrix’ △ Collaborative AI service ‘Brity Copilot’ △ Business Automation solution ‘Brity Automation’. Now, AI is evolving into an ‘agentic’ stage that recognizes and solves problems on its own, he said. “We will lead the era of AI agents.”

The future of Generative AI drawn by Samsung SDS is an autonomous AI that does not only automatically handle simple tasks but also makes judgments and execution by itself. A case in point is Fabrix.

Fabrix is a platform that can create and operate various AI agents by connecting data with corporate internal systems and specializes in the transition of old systems in the financial sector. In fact, many financial companies still use computer programs that are more than 20 years old, and some still maintain the Windows XP environment. Using Fabrix’s “code switching agent,” AI can analyze existing codes and automatically convert them into new languages. According to Samsung SDS, as a result of applying code switching agents to financial customers, the success rate of code switching reached 98.8%, and development costs were reduced by 68% compared to manual work. Samsung SDS is also expanding its Fabrix into the public sector, and in September, it will release a public-only Fabrix based on a public-private cooperative cloud.

British Copilot is an AI assistant who assists users in their daily collaboration tasks. Samsung SDS will add a “personal agent” function to this and officially release it in September, in the form of applying Generative AI to common tasks within the company, such as writing mails and summarizing minutes. Personal agents are AIs that judge and perform tasks on their own according to goals set by users. For example, when an employee present at an executive meeting uploads a recorded voice file, AI summarizes it and automatically creates a report. Launched in April, the ‘Interpreting Agent’ performs real-time Korean and English interpretation functions at the global conference site, and the supported language will be expanded to 7 languages by July and 17 languages by November.

In addition, Samsung SDS will introduce “briefing agents” that check work data and tell them what to do, “answering agents” that automatically answer work inquiries, “cursing agents” that recommend knowledge and reference materials needed for work situations, and “voice agents” that support work processing by voice while on the move.

British Automation is an AI solution that automates repetitive and complex tasks. When a user enters “Find a strange transaction on this receipt” in natural language, AI analyzes the data to capture the problem, and automatically corrects it if the account processing is wrong. Samsung SDS explained that this can automate about 70% of office work. The company explains that efficiency has doubled compared to existing solutions. “AI agents are evolving beyond simple automation into ‘digital colleagues’ who judge and work on their own,” said Song Hae-gu, head of Samsung SDS’s solution business division. “We will provide corporate customers with AI agents that can be applied immediately to actual tasks within this year.”
