The NIHR Evaluation, Trials and Studies Coordinating Centre (NETSCC), School of Healthcare Enterprise and Innovation, Faculty of Medicine

The School of Healthcare Enterprise and Innovation was established within the Faculty of Medicine in February 2022. It is the home of several high-profile government contracts, such as the National Institute for Health and Social Care Research (NIHR) Evaluation, Trials and Studies Coordinating Centre (NETSCC) and the Southampton Health Technology Assessment Centre (SHTAC).

The School of Healthcare Enterprise and Innovation and NETSCC operate hybrid working, enabling colleagues to work some of their contracted hours in our offices and some at home.  Everyone is expected to spend some of their time in our buildings – how much depends on business need, and the responsibilities of the role; and needs to be agreed with the relevant line manager.  Applicants will therefore need to live within commuting distance of our offices in Chilworth, Southampton.

A vacancy has arisen for a Finance Manager within the NETSCC Finance Team. You will work within the Finance Team supporting the Senior Finance Managers with the financial and contractual aspects of new research funding applications and ongoing research projects, providing advice to both internal and external stakeholders on NIHR funding rules and other NIHR guidance.

You will be a qualified or finalist CCAB accountant, with proven organisational skills and confident using the MS Office suite, particularly Excel. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to constantly re-evaluate and re-prioritise your workload to reflect the ever-changing needs of a busy team environment.

You will need to be able to work well as part of a team which is committed to adding maximum value to the management of health and social care research across the globe.

We offer excellent benefits including generous holidays, flexible working arrangements and the opportunity to develop your career in a professional, friendly and pleasant working environment.
